TNPSC Group 4 Salary ranges from Rs. 19,500 to 62,000 as per the 7th Pay Commission. The basic scale band is Rs. 19,500 – 62,000 (Level 8). Additional allowances and benefits are provided.

4. TNPSC Group 4 Eligibility 2026
TNPSC Group 4 Qualification 2026: Candidates must possess 10th Class/SSLC. Age limit: 18-32 for SSLC candidates, 18-58 for candidates with higher education. Category-specific age limits are below.
You can only write if you meet two qualifications for this Group 4 exam. They are,

TNPSC Group 4 Educational Qualification
You can write this Group 4 exam 2026 if you have completed at least 10th Class / SSLC [பத்தாம் வகுப்பு] at the time of notification.
TNPSC Group 4 Age Limit
18 to 32 for those who have completed only the 10th class in terms of age.
18 to 58 for those who have studied above 10th class Ie., 12th, Diploma, Degree and etc…

Typewriting Qualification
Aspirants must have passed the Government Technical Examination in Typewriting for the post of Typist and Steno-Typist
- by Higher / Senior Grade in Tamil and English (or)
- by Higher / Senior Grade in Tamil and Lower/ Junior Grade in English
- (or) by Higher / Senior Grade in English and Lower/ Junior Grade in Tamil.

5. TNPSC Group 4 Selection Method
Applicants who have to apply for these exams are selected only through written examination. Those who pass the written test are certified and assigned to the job through counseling.
- Stage 1: Written Test (Objective Type Exam)
- Stage 2: Document Verification (Certificate Verification)
6. TNPSC Group 4 Exam Pattern
We mentioned above that the first step in the selection process is the written test.

The written examination will be conducted in two papers in the method of Objective type questions (MCQ).

7. TNPSC Group 4 Syllabus 2026
We saw above that the Group 4 exam consists of two question papers.
One is set up to test language proficiency and the other to test general knowledge.
I. General Tamil
100 questions will be asked from the General Tamil section. This Tamil eligibility-cum-scoring test and Its is compulsory for all candidates.
II. General Studies
